José Roosevelt

José Roosevelt (1958-) 1982 The Castle of Kafka. José Roosevelt was born in Rio de Janeiro. When he was only 15 years old he decided to take up painting, being fascinated by the surrealism of Dali, and the then emerging fantasy art.

He taught himself primarily through visiting museums and art galleries and read extensively about the history of painting and its techniques. Initially he began by writing and illustrating graphic novels, but from about 1977 painting became Roosevelt's main focus. His first solo exhibition was held in Brasília in 1979 in which he displayed thirty surrealist pictures, mostly painted in acrylic on canvas.

Inspiration - Todd Williams

Todd Williams "My work can be described as narrative impressionistic fine art. Specializing in oil paint and the Alla Prima approach. This approach allows the art to be fresh and not over worked, keeping the abstract quality and bravado brushstrokes to remain intact. My goal is for the work to be exciting to the viewer on multiple levels, whether up close, studying details, texture of paint or from a distance, taking in the entire design and the overall harmony of the visual layout. https://toddwilliamsfineart.com/ .. * The intellectual property of the images that appear in this blog correspond to their authors and to those who have assigned them.
